The Open Water Diver is the PADI flagship certification and the most important step in your diver training.  This certification gives you training recognised all over the world, whilst giving you the keys to diving autonomously.

The theory can be done via eLearning before your holiday, meaning we’ll just have to do a check via a quiz, and then dive.  Your studies will be completed by learning specific techniques in the sea.

Prerequisites:

• To want to do it.
• 10 years old.
• Able to swim.
• No previous diving experience necessary, you can try diving with the Aqualonde Experience.
• Be medically fit to dive.

PADI Open Water divers are qualified to:

• Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Pro to a max depth of 20 metres.
• Dive with a buddy of the same level to a max depth of 20 metres.
• Continue diver training with the Advanced Open Water course and certain Specialty courses.

Competences you’ll acquire:

• Look after your diving equipment.
• Evolve correctly in a group of divers.
• Plan and effect your dives.
• Anticipate and manage problems.
• And lots of other stuff!

The course includes:

• Adapted and personalised training.
• Course conducted by a high level professional.
• 6 training dives.
• Theory.
• Continuous assessment (no final exam).
• Certification costs.
• Equipment hire.

The course does not include:

• Accommodation and meals.
• Sun cream or shower gel.

What’s different with Aqualonde?

• The possibility with the premium version to use Nitrox, the only gas mix that will increase your safety.
• No lifting, your gear is systematically transported with our chariots between the centre and the 10 metres distance towards the boat.

Organisation and booking

RDV at 2.00 or 2.30pm at our dive base in La Londe les Maures.

When you reserve you’ll choose the date of your first lesson.  At the same time we’ll establish the dates of the next two or three lessons (if you want all of the dates please specify whilst booking)

Continue the adventure

Once you’ve got the PADI “Open Water Diver” certification you can increase the choice of your dives by following the PADI “Adventure Diver” or PADI “Advanced Open Water Diver Courses.  These courses are designed to allow you to progress and increase your experience, confidence and ability.
