You’re a Dive Master or equivalent and you want to become a professional with international
prospects. Become an Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). Don’t wait, this course is for
you!
The PADI Instructor Development Course, also known as the IDC is the royal path to become
a PADI Instructor.
This course enables you to practice as dive professional worldwide, except in France where
you need a BP or DEJEPS.
The PADI Instructor Development Course is composed of two sections:
The success in an IDC programme permits candidates to attend an IE (Instructor
Examination) and then become a PADI Instructor.
An IE is the exam that allows you to become a PADI Instructor.
It lasts two days and tests the teaching capacities of an Instructor candidate, their
theory knowledge; the level of their diving techniques, their understanding of the PADI
system, aswell as their attitude and professionalism.
PADI IE’s are standardised and managed by impartial PADI Examiners who are
specially trained.
IE venues including the environment for the written tests and practical evaluations are
selected so that the evaluation of the capacities of the candidate are as objective and
fair as possible.
